In this class, we will delve into the fundamentals of environment design, color theory, and composition, as well as principles of design to create evocative illustrations and universes. Through multiple examples and case studies, we’ll analyze the key elements that make an environment stand out as a character of its own in environment painting and how to think creatively about worldbuilding. Finally, we’ll use two different creative approaches to create a full illustration from start to finish, including techniques for environment painting and design.
