Over the course of 13 weeks, Stephen Bauman will guide you through the process of painting the figure using the sight-size method. You will learn how to make a transfer drawing and a color study as preparation for your final painting. Stephen will also share his expertise on materials and techniques used when painting the human body. By the end of the course, you will have acquired the necessary skills to accurately capture the human form on canvas through the sight-size approach.
Week 1: Overview of Materials and Beginning a Preparatory Drawing
During the first week, Stephen will showcase the materials required for a sight-size figure painting. He will impart his knowledge on the different drawing and painting tools, and guide you through the process of stretching canvas and paper.
