Requirements and materials Previous experience in modeling, sculpture, or photography is not required, although familiarity with Photoshop and digital retouching is beneficial.

For materials, modeling tools like an airbrush and mini drill may be used, but simpler methods and more common materials can be substituted for the same effect. Styrene sheets are an example of such materials.

A compact digital camera is suitable for photographing the diorama, so there’s no need for sophisticated photography equipment.
