Analytical Figure Drawing 2 – Michael Hampton

This is the second Analytical Figure Drawing class offered through CGMA. As such, this course builds on the skills and information covered in the initial course, however challenges students to push those skills through the introduction of additional subject matter. In addition to covering parts not addressed in the first course (hand, feet, features, and drapery) this course will answer the basic question of “what to do with the figure?” This question will be put to the student through lectures on the execution/ use of tone and composition specifically.

It took a long time to track down week 1 and week 4 but I finally got them. Unfortunately the only copy I found of week 4 was in a private ustream channel. The user did not respond to requests to share the video, so I was forced to hack the channel to obtain the video. The good news is that I managed to get the video, the bad news is the the original uploader used a trial version of ustream producer which leaves both an annoying audio and visual watermark every few seconds. I was forced to correct the aspect ration, but nothing could be done to salvage the audio as its all stored on a mono channel. I was contemplating make a transcript of what was being said and then provide subtitles for those that wish to mute the audio, but quite frankly I don’t have the time or patience for that. So if anyone wants to volunteer feel free to do so.
