Hi, my name is Ryugi and I’m a freelance illustrator who enjoys using pictures to bring my stories to life. Through my artwork, I’m able to capture my unique worldview and personal narratives. I particularly enjoy using vibrant colors and intense lighting to depict my favorite subjects. This class is perfect for individuals who share my passion for storytelling through visual arts and want to create eye-catching illustrations that convey their own unique perspectives.

In this class, I’ll be using an iPad for all our lessons. The great thing about the iPad is that it allows you to draw whenever and wherever inspiration strikes. With the Procreate app, you have access to a variety of painting brushes that allow you to express your creativity.

In the past, I’ve struggled with choosing the right brush and have found myself constantly switching between different options. However, I’ll be sharing tips on how to choose the best brush for your needs and how to effectively apply coloring tools.

From sketching to retouching, we’ll complete the entire process using only an iPad. By the end of this class, you’ll have the skills and knowledge to create stunning illustrations on-the-go.

Have you ever wondered why the main character in a picture is looking upwards or why the title of the piece is “jealous”? And what about the protagonist who gazes at the sky on the left only to fall on the right? These kinds of questions can pique people’s interest and generate more responses on social media. With so much content available online, it’s important to capture people’s attention for as long as possible.

One effective way to achieve this is by incorporating a narrative into your artwork. By telling a story through your paintings, you can not only arouse people’s curiosity but also establish your own unique artistic personality. In this class, I’ll teach you how to create compelling main characters that speak to your audience and capture their imagination. In fact, light and shadow play a significant role in many aspects of a painting, more than you might initially think. By clearly defining the areas of shadow and light, you can create a much clearer and more visually striking image.

If you’re struggling with blurry images, try reducing the saturation of the canvas with black and white. This will help you identify any areas that are misrepresented or lack sufficient lighting. I’ll also be sharing small tips and detailed know-how so that you can create a polished finished product.
