Join renowned artist Steve Huston as he teaches you a direct and powerful approach to drawing the human head and portrait. This beginner-friendly course leaves nothing out of the process. You will learn how to visualize the head as simple three-dimensional forms, how to design the shapes and lines of the head and how to deal with anatomy, rendering, expression, aging, characterization and hair.
1. Beginning Head Drawing | Part 1: Basic Head Construction With Steve Huston Learn how to use solids (boxes, cylinders, spheres) to form the basic structure of the head. This lesson is a fundamental step in learning how to create a solid foundation to place the features of the face on. He will also show you how to construct the basic head in different perspectives. Following Steve’s lecture, he will illustrate how the Old Masters constructed the human head. You will then be given a timed assignment from Steve to utilize what you have learned and practice your skills. Finally, Steve will share with you how he goes about the assignment through his own techniques.
2. Beginning Head Drawing | Part 2: Intermediate Head Construction With Steve Huston Steve will show you a more in-depth construction of the head using egg shapes, tubes and wedges. He will also show you how to construct the intermediate head in different perspectives in three dimensions: leaning, tilting and facing.
3. Beginning Head Drawing | Part 3: The Eyes With Steve Huston Steve covers how to construct the eye within the eye socket. He will also show you how the eye lids are placed around the eye as well as the brow ridges.
4. Beginning Head Drawing | Part 4: The Nose With Steve Huston Learn how to construct the three major parts of the nose: the tip of the nose, the left wings, and the right wings. He will also show you how to draw the nose in different perspectives.
5. Beginning Head Drawing | Part 5: The Mouth With Steve Huston Steve will show you how to draw the different parts of the mouth, such as the lips and the filtrum. He will also show you how to construct the mouth in different perspectives.
6. Beginning Head Drawing | Part 6: The Ears With Steve Huston Learn how to construct the complex shapes and different thicknesses of the ear. Steve will also illustrate how to draw the ears in different perspectives.

This first lesson in the series will cover drawing the hair, a fun but often tricky feature to accurately represent. Steve will begin with a lecture, giving you an overview of how to draw several hair types.
8. Advanced Head Drawing | Part 2: Visual Differences Between Sexes With Steve Huston In this series, master artist Steve Huston brings you his highly-anticipated advanced head drawing lessons. This second lesson in the series will cover the often subtle differences between the head and facial features of males and females. Steve begins at the lecture board, utilizing a set of skulls to elucidate the structural changes in head.
